EventsBAPTISMAL SERVICE, August 29th, 2010
We have some of our members following the Lord in believer's baptism this Sunday. Whereas baptism is NOT essential for salvation, it is a vital part of a new believer's growth in the Lord and it is both a picture of "the operation of God" spoken of in Colossians 2, as well as the new believer's commitment to follow their Lord and Savior. Please join us this Sunday as we are going to have a potluck after church Sunday morning and following our potluck we will be going to baptize these new believers. We would love for you to join with us in this celebration, and if you have questions about following the Lord in believer's baptism we would be glad to share from God's word with you what this is all about.
AURORA HOUSE-TO-HOUSE "BLITZ", September 18th, 2010
We will be hosting a group of men that are coming from Lighthouse Baptist Church in Colorado Springs, CO, to help us go "door-to-door" to evangelize our community, and let them know that New Heights Baptist Church is here to serve them, and to bring honor to the Lord Jesus Christ. We will be having a men's breakfast, and then hitting the streets following that time.
MISSIONS EMPHASIS SUNDAY, September 26th, 2010
Leading up to our "Missions Emphasis Sunday", we will be going through a series on Sunday Mornings concerning "Turning the World Upside Down" (Acts 17). This series will discuss missions during the early church, and how the church so desperately needs to get back to its purpose of propagating the Gospel of the Grace of God (1 Cor. 15) into all the world (Matthew 28). The purpose of this series is to learn about missions, and how we as a local church can have our part in "Turning the World Upside Down". We will have 2 Missionary Families here at New Heights Baptist Church to present their ministries to us. We will have one missionary family present their work in the Sunday School hour (10 am), and the other family present their work after our afternoon church potluck (1:30/2:00 pm): |
